Privacy

Short version: your text is not kept. We store your email, a daily counter, and a one-way hash. That's all of it.

Text you paste

The check runs on our own server. Your text sits in memory while the rules run over it and is dropped the moment the check finishes. It is not written to disk and not written to a log, and we don't use it to train anything on our side. For the check, nothing goes to a third-party service.

When you ask for a rewrite, that text (up to the first 300 words on the free rewrite, up to 1,000 words on the full one) goes to our language-model provider, is processed, and comes straight back to you. We keep no copy. That provider handles the request under its own API terms, which we don't control. The check never goes there at all.

What we store

Cookies

One cookie, wp_unlock. It holds a random signature, not your email address, and it lasts a year. Clear it whenever you like; you just leave your address again. No analytics cookies and no advertising cookies.

Server logs

Our web server records requests the ordinary way: IP address, time, page, browser. We keep these 14 days and then they rotate out. Request bodies are not logged, so the text you paste appears in no log anywhere.

Who else is involved

We don't sell or rent your email address, and we won't add you to a mailing list. We write to you only if you write first, or ask us to change or delete something.

Your choices

Ask us to delete your email address and its counters at any time: support@shovelscout.com. Since we don't hold your text, there is nothing else to remove.

Effective 16 October 2026. If we change how any of this works, we change this page and move the date.
